GIO PLC Security¶
The configuration of the GIO PLC Security can be opened via the global settings. It is used to link the Viper.NET user administration with security flags of the controller so that different user groups can or cannot perform different actions on the PLC.
To edit the GIO PLC Security settings, it must first be switched to edit mode using the Editmode button (1) and then set to enabled (2). The GIO PLC Security can then be used to write the current user with user name, ID and flags to the controller. For this purpose, GInOut variables are used. Their existence can be checked using the Apply / Check create gio vars (3) button and they are created if necessary. Flags can be assigned not only to individual users but also to user roles. Using the Reset / Create default params button, the default roles and flags as well as the default Rolesorder (Admin, Service, Operator, Technican) can be regenerated or reset.
Clear names for flags can be defined under Flags alias. Flag aliases can be created and deleted by right-clicking.
As several roles can be assigned to a user at the same time, it is necessary to define which role definition has priority when assigning flags. This is done using the Rolesorder field (4).
